Life Science Recruitment are currently looking for Automation Engineers for a global pharmaceutical leader in Sydney, Australia.

The client will provide 6 month working holiday visas (with the potential for full sponsorship). They will provide assistance with relocation by providing visa, flight and temporary accommodation on arrival.

The client is one of the largest manufacturers of pharmaceutical products in Australia. At their state of the art manufacturing site they produce a range of sterile products that are being distributed to more than 30 countries. The site is going through an exciting growth phase with a multimillion dollar investment in the expansion of production lines.

Position Description and Responsibilities

• Development of machine design control systems.
• Develop, test and install PLC and control software as part of a highly automated, high volume 24/7 validated production environment.
• Develop Functional and Detailed Design Specifications from User Requirement Specifications
• Develop high quality PLC and HMI code from Functional and Detailed Design Specifications
• Participates within project teams, provide technical support and make informed decisions on hardware and architecture selection.
• Fault-find complex automation equipment
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of code to pharmaceutical standards


• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science OR equivalent
• 3/4 years’ experience working with automated control systems in a pharmaceutical environment
• Strong PLC background (Siemens S7)
• Accustomed to working in a validated environment with strong discipline with regard to change control.
