NPD Project Manager

Our client is a leading Healthcare company, based in Dublin. Reporting to the New Product Development (NPD) Director, the NPD Projects Manager will give full support to the delivery of NPD projects. The New Product Development Projects Manager supports and interacts within a team dedicated to developing and creating meaningful and lasting solutions that patients can understand and identify with. As an important member of the NPD team, the Product Development Projects Manager is responsible for assisting in the work-flow for the development of multiple projects.


  • Supports the organisation in the delivery of quality projects that meet expectations and are completed on time and on budget.
  • Prepares project plans, schedules and budgets by using project management tools by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete project.
  • Directs project execution by tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
  • Communicates project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental update meetings.
  • Resolves project issues by working with team members and other departments.
  • Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organisational objectives. Builds and works within an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Keeps the organisation's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
  • Builds strategic partnerships to further departmental and organisational objectives. Interacts internally and externally with senior level management, outside regulatory agencies, customers, vendors and/or suppliers.
  • Coordinates across functional areas, business units, and/or geographies in order to achieve company goals
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Enable the prioritisation of key initiatives and provide clear understanding of our capacity to manage and deliver results; Monitors project plan execution and ensures that key milestones and metrics are developed and met.
  • Support the NPD Director with presentations for both internal and external meetings.
  • Is fully aware of and aligned to the organisation’s commercial strategies.



  • Third Level Degree in Engineering or Science is essential.
  • Qualification in project management is desirable.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • The ideal candidate will be an experienced Project Manager with proven ability to foster and maintains strong relationships with all departments, in conjunction with developing cohesive and collaborative cross-functional teams, to drive success of projects from concept to launch.
  • Strong experience in project managing significant new product activities that require collaboration with Divisional R&D, Program Management, Regulatory Affairs, Design Assurance, Process Development, and Operations.
  • Ideally has a background in Quality, Product Development and/or innovation because of a natural inquisitiveness and creativity.
  • Must be strong in people management and team building in a project context.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in new product launches or go to market planning within a commercial organisation is desirable.
  • Must have a passion for Healthcare with an excellent understanding of the market.
  • Is a commercially focused person who can combine creativity with an understanding of full scale production practicalities and regulatory compliance.
  • Can make decisions and manage effectively within a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within strict cost / time parameters.
  • Exceptional awareness of detail through all the stages of processes of new product development.
  • Driven to deliver on goals and objectives, this person can also work effectively within a cross functional team.
  • Computer literate across Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite and Project Management Tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Has the flexibility and desire to travel regularly within Ireland, UK and International (25%). Is prepared to attend exhibitions and conferences outside normal office hours.
  • Full driving licence essential.
