Senior Director Operational Strategy

Our client a global healthcare company is currently seeking a Senior Director of Operational Strategy. Reporting to Global VP this role plays a critical part in organizations leadership and will develop strategic growth plans for organisation

Develops relationships across the business to enable group to succeed in its delivery
Represents group internally and externally on strategic initiatives and high-profile projects
Flexible, adaptable, effective communicator, ability to interact and lead through difficult and challenging issues
Works across group to identify and lead opportunities for business and operational improvement
Leadership of device elements of due diligence and business development opportunities, both wrt external partnerships and in-licensing opportunities (leading the device technical assessments & risk assessments), for recommendations to Executive Management
Develops and leads the lifecycle management strategy for global device portfolio
Develop and implement a model to efficiently, both in proactive and reactive modes, support technical challenges at device partners, and both internal and 3P commercial sites, post PQ/launch and during routine manufacturing
Responsible for device programs post major/initial market launch (e.g. RoW strategies)
Develop, roll-out and lead a model to drive device technology transfer, internally and with 3P sites, to enable commercial readiness during scale-up, PQ and launch readiness


Experienced in an Organisational Leadership role within the Pharmaceutical Industry as a Scientist or Engineer
Experienced in leadership of moving pharmaceutical products through the development cycle into scale-up and commercialisation at third party and/or commercial sites
Experienced in leading technical teams in delivery of integrated cross-functional disciplines within an R&D / Technical Services environment from concept development through to registration and post-market support
Proven record in people leadership
Knowledge of drug-delivery technologies within the pharmaceutical industry such as pen-injectors, auto-injectors, diagnostic kits, DPI, pMDI’s,
Has experience of working at team level where leadership and influencing skills have been applied. Ideally has experience working in and leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple products, sites and operating cultures
Well-developed oral and written communication skills to lead or facilitate effective technical and project discussions with technical teams and stakeholders
Experience of working with external partners (project providers / CROs / licensees) and evidence of problem solving and influencing when with 3rd parties
Bachelors’ Degree in a pharmaceutical science or engineering essential and a Higher Degree, PhD, MSc or MBA is desirable
