We’re currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a multinational Pharmaceutical organization based in Waterford. This is an excellent position for anyone who is looking to join a leading multinational who are one of the best at what they do.


Supply Operations

1. Support the Production Manager in the development of the weekly production schedules.
2. Manage production within the shift so that budgeted capacities are available and schedules are delivered cost effectively and on time. Manage and co-ordinate shift start up, shutdown, breaks, changeover and handover.
3. Ensure that the production schedules are adhered to and delivered on a daily shift basis.

Packaging Operations

1. Maximise and track manufacturing efficiency in terms of OEE and unit costs ensuring all KPIs are met and budgets are not exceeded.
2. Develop continuous improvement plans to optimise the performance of the plant.
3. Ensure that the correct crew sizes are used on each process order.

People Management

1. Manage and maximise team and individual performance through leadership, facilitation and employee development. Motivate the packaging team and create a positive employee relations environment.
2. Increase quality levels on packaging lines including carrying out spot checks on all room logbooks, pack-specs and on-line documentation, ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and timely. Ensure actions that are put in place as a result of audits are maintained.
3. Ensure discipline is maintained within the shift. Where necessary make recommendations to and support the Production Manager in processing personnel within the disciplinary procedure.


1. Manage all processes and systems in accordance with current and emerging EU legislation.
2. Follow up on actions resulting from QA, customer audits and customer complaints. Ensure compliance to SOPs and enforcement of cGMP standards on packaging lines.
3. Drive documentation right first time within the shift and where appropriate take corrective actions to improve.

Cost Control

1. Drive continuous improvement within the shift so that increased output levels on packaging lines is achieved without comprising product quality, safety and compliance.
2. Manage plant budgets on a daily basis to ensure that budgeted monies are consumed in an efficient and effective manner.
3. Reduce levels of downtime on packaging lines and increase efficiency of changeovers including liaising with manufacturing, packaging, production office, maintenance, stores, room supply, QC and QA departments.

Education & Experience

  • Pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing environment experience.
  • Management experience in supply or manufacturing is preferable.
  • A third level qualification in science, engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent is essential.
