A Supply Chain Operations Manager is required to join a leading Biopharmaceutical business in Limerick. The Manager of Supply Chain Operations will be responsible for batch disposition activities. They will coordinate internal and external cross functional teams to ensure that finished goods are available to meet all clinical and commercial demands. The successful candidate must exercise strong leadership, initiative and technical expertise. They must also be able to prioritize work, learn new concepts quickly and juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The Role;

  • Manage the Supply Operations process and Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Acts as a leader between functional areas to facilitate the advancement of batch disposition for all products
  • Assesses batch disposition issues and cross-functionally coordinates solutions to meet key milestones of the batch disposition process.
  • Drive batch impacting events towards closure to facilitate timely disposition of all relevant internal and external batches.
  • Review current activities in batch disposition on a regular cadence for alignment across sites. Understand any mis-alignment, conduct any necessary gap analysis and drive relevant actions to remove gaps.
  • Understand and escalate supply risks and constraints across end to end program networks.
  • Support Compliance activities for Supply Chain.
  • Drive Continuous improvements initiatives and enhance Supply Operations process development by communicating performance standards, developing joint improvement initiatives, and actively soliciting formal feedback.
  • The position will require domestic and U.S. travel.

The Person;

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain Mgmt., or Science background) with 8+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Management in a GMP regulated pharmaceutical/biotech/med device industry.
  • 3+ years’ experience supervising and coaching staff required
  • Project Management qualification a plus.
  • Pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience a plus.
  • Masters’ degree a plus.
  • APICS or other related Supply Chain certifications a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of supply chain management at both the development stage for clinical supplies as well as at the commercial stage is desirable.
  • Ability to lead and co-ordinate cross functional teams (who will not report directly to this role) to deliver against company objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities, make sound decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong Analytical Skills and ability to communicate details clearly and effectively.
  • Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement knowledge a plus.
