The role it requires deep-dive data analysis, interpretation, and the creation of data outputs to support sample upscaling and process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong DNA expertise and a research-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop computational methods process and analyse genomic datasets from animal samples, including those derived from next generation sequencing and SNP arrays
- Prepare, QC and run libraries for next generation sequencing
- Collaborate with other scientists and stakeholders in designing experiments, interpreting results and generating hypothesis for further study
- Develop, implement and maintain bioinformatics pipelines and workflows to support reproducible analysis
- Provide support and training for colleagues in wider DNA operations in using bioinformatic tools and resources
Education and Experience:
- Ideally a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline
- Strong background in DNA, ideally with academic experience in population genetics, DNA data analysis, and individual DNA profile identification
- Experience in library preparation for next generation sequencing
