Scientific Operations Manager & PMO Lead
Our client is currently recruiting for a Scientific Operations Manager & PMO Lead to join their team on a permanent basis. Partnering closely with executive and technical leadership, you will optimize asset throughput, manage project financials, and streamline resource utilization across specialized laboratory operations.

Responsibilities:

  • PMO & Governance: Build and enforce stage-gate, risk review, and change-control processes tailored to regulated biosafety projects.
  • Financial & Commercial Control: Oversee project P&Ls, cost-to-complete modeling, margin tracking, and variance analysis.
  • Resource & Asset Scheduling: Optimize capacity and scheduling for specialized exposure chambers, bio-suites, and scientific personnel to maximize throughput.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Design real-time executive dashboards tracking project burn, margins, risk signals, and key performance indicators.
  • Continuous Improvement: Introduce Lean/Six Sigma principles to resolve bottlenecks, standardise workflows, and maintain regulatory/GLP alignment.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of project/portfolio experience in regulated scientific, laboratory, or CRO environments.
  • Proven ability to model project financials, track margins, and manage capacity planning.
  • Familiarity with cGLP/ISO environments and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, data visualization, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Advanced degree in Science, Engineering, or Business; PMP or Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
