An experienced MES Engineer is required to join a leading global Pharmaceutical Manufacturer in Cork. The focus of the role is to design and develop new electronic batch records, deliver changes to existing electronic batch records, and provide day to day support for the MES system.


The role

  • Partner with the business to design, develop and deliver changes to existing electronic batch records, weigh & dispense and equipment tracking systems.
  • Work as part of a team in designing and developing electronic batch records / workflows within the MES solution.
  • Support, troubleshoot and resolve issues within the MES system.
  • Develop, execute, review and approve MES computer system validation deliverables.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within MES solution.
  • Monitor and report key KPI’s / metrics such as exceptions etc at team and governance meetings.
  • Coach / mentor members of the MES team.
The Person
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing technical / MES solutions in a GMP environment.
  • Experience in Object Orientated programming languages and demonstrated experience in Visual Basic scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and supporting an MES system or similar system.
  • Experience in working in a development team, but also the ability to take a lead in resolving issues or developing solutions where needed.
  • Good working knowledge of automation systems, Historians and DCS.
  • Knowledge of GMP’S, regulatory requirements, computer system validation.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
